BWF takes a trip to China |
|
Monday, 17 October 2005 |
|
In conjunction with the 2005 Asia Pacific Cities Summit, The Lord Mayor
of Brisbane, Campbell Newman, led a business development program with a
difference, exploring the potential business opportunities and the
pitfalls in both the emerging West and established Eastern China
seaboard. BWF's CEO, Andrew Spyropoulos, participated in a tailored
program of business development introductions, industry events and
tours, networking and hospitality functions. Several Mayors from South
East Queensland also participated in the mission.
The mission focused on three key locations:
- Chongqing - the emerging Western gateway
city, partnering Brisbane for the delivery of the 2005 Asia
Pacific Cities Summit. A major government and industry event was
staged from 11-14 October 2005. Delegations from major cities
across China and the world participated in the Summit.
- Shenzhen Brisbane’s Sister City and host
of the annual China Hi-Tech Fair.
- Shanghai - China’s buzzing commercial
centre and the heart of the Yangtze River Delta economic region.
